Another wild and crazy weekend has flown by for us!!
We took our first mini-trip with Julia this weekend! She made her first drive out of town...to Springfield to visit her Great Grandpa and Judy! All and all, it was a great visit and a great drive. Both Alex and Julia slept on the way there and back! It was peaceful!
Our only trouble came with our side excursion to 'Sonic.' Matt has been telling Daddy for years that 'Sonic' has a great Coke, so Daddy has been nagging Mommy to let him go to 'Sonic.' Well, first we got lost (Mommy should have listened to the directions Great Grandpa was giving Daddy--Daddy has no sense of direction) and then Daddy decided that 'Sonic' was a "JuBelt's 'Part Two.'" It's a long story...but we aren't sure if Daddy is going to continue to trust Matt with his culinary suggestions!
Auntee Tonya, Auntee Karen, and Uncle Ben came for a visit late Saturday night. Both Alex and Julia spent a little time with them before going to bed! Mommy and Daddy enjoyed laughing into the wee hours of the next morning with great friends!
Finally, after a long weekend, we all packed into the car (Duke, too!) to get ice cream to help celebrate Alex's continuing success with potty training. The quality time prize system seems to be really working...Alex had his first full successful day today of using the potty, no accidents, and no diapers!!

Sorry It Has Been So Long!
Wow--it has been awhile since I have updated the blog! We were dealing with some computer issues, but those have since been resolved!
Alex and Julia enjoyed their Easter weekend! We were surprised that Alex didn't wake up Monday morning and ask where the Easter eggs were! He had three Easter Egg Hunts by Sunday night...and he never wore out on his enthusiasm! He couldn't believe that the Easter Bunny had been to both grandparents' houses and his house too!
Julia turned three months old today! She is hitting all of her milestones--she smiles constantly, makes wet razzing noises, and coos at us! She is quite the talker...telling us all about what she thinks about this and that!
Alex was excited this week because 'his Tonya, his Karen, and his Ben' visited us this week! He couldn't wait for them to get here...He loves to show off for them!

More Updates
Alex finished up his story hour this week. He definitely is a little bummed about it because he loves going so much, but we will continue to make trips to the library every week or so! His final story hour was on 'chicks' in honor of Easter. He really enjoyed it and loved the little chick that was made out of a yellow solo cup--he got to bring it home and it clucks!! It is soooo cute!
Julia had her first pictures taken today! She was a superstar!! Unlike Alex at his first pictures,
Julia willingly smiled for the camera! She is becoming quite the diva!
Alex completed his first NCAA bracket this morning! He has quite a few 'upsets' predicted with Duke, American, Oral Roberts, and CSU Fullerton going to the Final Four. According to Alex, Duke and CSU Fullerton will play in the Championship Game, with CSU Fullerton winning it all! Daddy will be quite disappointed he didn't pick Duke, but if it is any consolation...Alex only picked CSU Fullerton because he thought I was saying 'ISU.' I guess he is more of a Reggie Redbird fan than a Duke Blue Devil fan! I think Daddy can live with that!
Good Luck, ISU tonight against Utah St. in the NIT!
Alex's Prediction: It's a win for the Redbirds!

Spring Weather
Sorry that it has been so long since our last post!! The weather was so nice last week that we spent a lot of time outside playing and I didn't have much time to sit down and write.
Alex, Julia, Duke, and Mommy took several quality walks this week. Duke is very happy when he doesn't have to wait for Daddy to get home to take him on a walk. Alex has been making our walks "Discovery Trips." He points out letters that he sees...he especially likes to point out all the 'X's!! They seem to be everywhere!
The other day, when it was so nice outside, Alex didn't want to take a nap. Nonetheless, he was so tired! He groggily said that he didn't want to take a nap and that he wanted to play outside. Then he said, "Mommy, Spring is Here!" Soon enough, little guy!

Fun Times
Alex and Julia had a fun weekend!! We celebrated Papa Carl's Birthday at the Cracker Barrell on Saturday! It was Julia's first time to a restaurant--mommy and daddy are starting to lighten up a little bit on our fear of germs! Alex pigged out on pancakes and Julia slept peacefully! It was a success!
Aunt Nett and Uncle Adam left for Disney World yesterday! Alex was a bit upset when he found out he would not be going to Disney World to visit Mickey as well. He balled for 10 minutes...I told him that mommy and daddy would take him again someday, but Alex said that he didn't want to go with us, he wants to go with 'Nett and Adam.'
Alex was a bit disappointed that his Redbirds played so terribly on national TV yesterday. He is keeping his fingers crossed that they will still be able to make the NCAA tournament!
Go You Redbirds!

Story Time and Doctor Visit
Alex had story time again this week. This week it was all about shapes and colors! He had a great time showing off his identification skills! He still proclaims that yellow is his favorite color!
Julia had her two month doctor appointment today! She is a healthy 11 lbs, 7 oz and is 22 1/4 inches long. 75th percentile in weight and 70th in height. Not exactly the same numbers as Alex, but definitely still ahead of the game in comparison to mommy's height!
