Alex started his swim lessons last Monday. For a kid who seems to love the water so much when we go swimming for leisure, it would be hard for you to believe it if you saw him at lessons. He screamed his head off for every lesson last week. First, his tears were because of the frigid water on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, he said it was still cold despite the fact that it wasn't and he was fearful of me 'dropping him in the water.' It seems like nonsense, but maybe he sensed that I could barely touch in the 4 feet water (posted at 4 feet...I would venture to guess that it is more like 4 1/2 feet). I am not sure if this is the true issue, though. Uncle Jeffy took him to class on Thursday and Alex promised he would like it better, but Alex just screamed in Uncle Jeffy's ear the whole time. Anyways, we have decided to stop torturing him for now and will take Julia to swim lessons next week instead.
Mommy celebrated her upcoming 3oth birthday by having girl's time with Auntee's Tonya and Karen on Thursday and Friday. Daddy played Mr. Mom while Mommy hung out with her bestest friends! We had a blast, but I missed my babies. I did discover, however, that only Duke truly missed me and that Daddy can take care of the kids for a few days and remain in one piece (both the children and himself!).
Saturday Morning:
Mommy: (Pulls into driveway and sees Alex playing at Owen's) 'Alex, I'm home. Come give me a hug and a kiss.'
Alex: (Backwards glance) 'No! I'm playing with Owen!'
Mommy: 'Didn't you miss me?'
Alex: 'No, I didn't miss you at all!'
I am glad to see that I am loved and appreciated for all that I do around here!
