Continued...

Alex, Julia, and Chandon by their garden. I really need to take another picture, because the corn is actually much taller than this already (this was taken about two weeks ago).

Just a fun picture of Julia having fun!!

Squirt gun fun!!

Alex all decked out in this soccer cleats and shin pads for his first soccer practice.

So, where to begin...

Alex and Julia have really been enjoying their summer. It has been unusually cool outside, which despite my whining when it is really hot, I am finding to be an utter inconvenience. Swim lessons were brutally cold and I find it to be a bit chilly when Alex goes to wee-ball in the mornings!

Julia continues to do more and more funny things each day! We have discovered that she has a bit of a bossy side (probably inherited from Mommy). She likes to tell Alex what to do and also bosses the kids at the playground, too! Her knew trick is to tell Alex to go to time out when he makes her mad, but we also got a good laugh the other day when she told her Daddy to go to time out when told her 'no!'

Alex does and says so many funny things that I should write them down!! I always forget by the time I sit down to update the blog. He has a new friend, Courtney, who today told him she was stuck while at the playground. Alex railroaded Julia while going to save his beloved Courtney. As he brushed Julia aside, he was even shouting...'Don't worry Courtney, I'll save you!' I don't know about him sometimes...oh, and the other day Julia picked up the crocodile kazoo. Alex and I can never get the crocodile kazoo to work, but Julia jams on it like a pro. I said...'I still don't know how Julia gets that thing to work!' And, Alex responded with sigh...'I guess Julia just has the magic touch, Mommy.' I still don't know where he picks this stuff up!!

Putt-Putt and Updates

Alex and Julia getting ready to play a round of putt-putt.

Alex really got into this year...He is starting to play like a real 'pro' and hardly ever cheats anymore!!

Julia lost her focus after the first hole...Mommy and Daddy took turns letting her explore for the rest of the time!!

I have realized that I have really fallen behind on my updates to the blog, so I am going to do a little catch up for everyone in the next few days!

We enjoyed a nice Father's Day weekend despite the fact that Daddy had not been feeling so well that week. We took the kids putt-putt golfing, made him a special breakfast, and Alex helped to decorate a special big chocolate chip cookie for him. It was a nice weekend.

We helped celebrate Meema's birthday last week as well! Alex picked out her ice cream cake at DQ and Meema thought that he must think that she was turning 80, because he picked one with big, fat yellow roses on it. I was kind of against the cake because it was the biggest cake that DQ had to offer and I was wondering who was going to eat it all, but Alex said "I want the cake with the big yellow flowers on it for Meema, because yellow is my favorite color."

Both Alex and Julia have been pretty busy over the past few weeks. Alex has been busy with wee-ball, swim lessons, and soccer practice and Julia has been busy with her swim class as well. Pictures of all of this chaos were are in the midst of are soon to come...I just registered Alex for another swim lesson. He loved it so much and I figured we should continue to capitalize on all the progress he has made. He got a "perfect" swim lesson report card for his level today at his last swim class.
