We all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!! Unfortunately, we had hoped to take a picnic at a local park, but the weather just did not want to cooperate. Despite this, we had lots of fun playing, running errands, working on projects around the house, hanging out with Aunt Nett and Uncle Adam, visiting Aaron (home from the service for a few weeks), having a cookout at Meema and Papa Stephens, and going to the Memorial Day Parade! Alex just loved the parade...according to him, it had just the right amount of 'Star Spangled Banner Flags," but was short on marching bands!
Alex had his three year doctor appointment yesterday! It started off a little sketchy because for the first time ever, Alex was scared at the doctor's office. It took him some time to calm down, but by the time we left, he was pretending to be "Dr. Alex" and was asking me questions about how I felt. He weighed 33 pounds (no gain from the 2 1/2 appointment--where does it all go??) and they measured him at 36 inches. The height is not correct because the nurse had to estimate. Alex would not stand still and up straight (he was crying in fear!!). I measured him again after he calmed down and he was 38 1/2 inches tall. The funny thing about the whole ordeal is that he was terrified of being weighed and measured, but didn't bat an eyelash when they pricked his finger for the lead test!! Silly boy!
