Last night, during the ISU/Bradley game, I went downstairs to workout and discovered that we had a visitor. The poor bunny rabbit had somehow fallen into our window well that is covered from above. The only way we could get him out was through the basement window in our basement. Daddy and I tried to get him out of the window well during most of the second-half of the game and had no luck. We finally called our neighbor and he came over and just picked him up out of the well and put him in Duke's crate. Suprisingly, the bunny rabbit seemed OK with being captured...but, he was probably hungry and cold. We're not sure how long he was down there, but we hope it wasn't too long. After his capture, we gave him a treat of cantaloupe and lettuce. He didn't seem too interested...just scared. Daddy let him go between the houses and the bunny rabbit hopped away. Oh, and what about Duke?? As usual, when we have intruders, he is fast asleep. The one time we tried to catch the mouse at our old house...Duke snoozed as the mouse ran practically all over him. Of course, when we tried to catch the bunny, again he was no help!! Do I care?? Not really, I raised Duke to be a lover not a killer, but I do think it is interesting that if that bunny had been in the yard...Duke would have been on it like white on rice. Silly dog!!
We are glad that the bunny rabbit is alright, but we do blame him for ISU's loss to Bradley. We were so busy trying to save the bunny that we couldn't concentrate on cheering for ISU. Some dumb luck, bunny!!
