Updates...Including a Tale of Aeration

Oh, where to begin...

The last few weeks have been as busy as usual and the next few weeks look like they are about to get even crazier!!

Alex enjoyed his last day of preschool last week! He absolutely loved preschool and is disappointed that it doesn't continue until at least June! He had tons of fun learning new things, making new friends, and playing without the interruption of a certain sister! Alex has story hour for the next few weeks to tide him a few more weeks and, then, he will only have the joys of summer to make him happy!

Julia continues to grow and amaze us everyday! She has added bye-bye and ball to her long list of words. She is hilarious when she gets ahold of a phone, because she says "hello-bye" and then hangs up! Julia is loving the new weather and as soon as she wakes up she goes and finds her tennis shoes to bring me. She is bored with the indoors and is ready for some outside fun! Little does she know that the end of this week is looking mighty good for outside playing!!

Alex and Julia have enjoyed having Ginger and Farley with us while Meema and Papa have been gone having some fun in the Caribbean. Julia is particularly enamored with Ginger and wants to sit with her all of the time. Julia seems to think that Ginger is a doll as well, because she is always trying to decorate Ginger with ribbons and other pieces of clothing!

Alex and Julia enjoyed spending some extra time with their Aunt Tonya last week while she was on Spring Break. We hit the Children's Museum on Wednesday and showed Aunt Tonya all the fun things they like to do. Alex was a little saddened when the day ended, however, because he was upset with his Aunt Tonya for not inviting him to her birthday party. We tried to explain that she wasn't really having a 'party,' just dinner with her parents, but he insisted he wanted to go to...when we dropped off Aunt Tonya at her house...I said "blow Aunt Tonya a kiss" and Alex said as he pouted..."I'm not blowing her any kisses. She didn't invite me to her birthday party!" What a goober!! He can be so dramatic!

On Saturday, Daddy decided to rent an aerator and aerate the yard. Unfortunately, when he got it started, it shot like a bat out of hell down the fence line (the previous user had it on FAST and Daddy should have put it to SLOW). Daddy was OK, but Alex's turtle sandbox and one rung of our fence got it! Alex was pretty upset at first, but once I fixed it with some 'band-aids' or duct-tape, he felt much better. Oops...sometimes you don't save much money by doing it yourself!! The other not so great thing about the aeration is that the dogs...specifically Ginger and Farley...have figured out how to pull worms out up through the holes!! It is disgusting, especially when they decide to roll their faces all over it!! Farley...the smell of worms do not make the ladies swoon!!

I'm sure I am forgetting something...I always feel as though I should make a list as things happen and the kids say or do silly things!!
