Alexisms

Alex has desperately wanted a pinata for his birthday party. I was hesitant because I didn't want to pay for it, but he was insistent, so we decided to make one. Well, he settled on a hot air balloon...go figure, he would pick something difficult for my first try at making a pinata. As I started looking around, I realized pinatas weren't exactly as expensive as I had thought, so I tried to talk Alex into just buying one. He was completely against it until we finally ventured to Hobby Lobby this week to buy the supplies for the hot air balloon. One last attempt as we walked along the pinata aisle..."Are you sure you don't want a party hat pinata?" No!" "How about a baseball?" "NO!" We went along and looked at just about every single one and Alex continued to say no until he saw the donkey. I hadn't even pointed it out, because I certainly thought that he would never want a donkey, but that is what we headed out of the store with that day. It was pretty cheap with that 40% off coupon I had and I thought I had overcome a huge hurdle of making a homemade pinata. Well, then the story continues...today, Alex tells me that...

Alex: "I don't want to break my donkey."
Mommy: "Why?"
Alex: (As he is hugging the donkey) "Because, I love him. Is that so wrong?"

I don't know where he gets these things!! But, I am going to be real sour if I end up making that hot air balloon pinata!!

Too funny, we just went through that same pinata fiasco in December for Killian's birthday, we did pull strings, but now we can't part with the busted up used Darth Vader head pinata:(
