Michigan 2011

We took a small family vacation this year...an extended weekend to PURE MICHIGAN. I have been seeing and hearing those wonderful 'PureMichigan.org' commercials for a few years now and decided, after a friend visited Michigan, that it was time to make the trek. I originally wanted to go to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes State Park, but decided against it due to the long drive. We settled on the Holland and Saugatuck area and had a wonderful time! 'Pure Michigan' did not disappoint!

USS SILVERSIDES and GREAT LAKES NAVY MUSEUM: MUSKEGON, MI

Seeing what it is like to sleep on a submarine! Can you believe that they kept pets on board? Dogs, cats, and rats! :)

TUNNEL BEACH: HOLLAND, MI

Climbing the Dunes...The only pain about hitting the beach in Michigan. The first time is a riot and then...Well, your muscles in your legs catch fire! :)

JOHN BALL ZOO: GRAND RAPIDS, MI

This girl is too much...She is showing off her souvenirs (jewelry) from the zoo!

PUTT-PUTT: HOLLAND, MI

Hole in One!!

BERRY PICKING: MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, MI

Julia just wasn't meant to be a berry picker...or a farmer for that matter!
